Photographer’s Note

It was right after the exciting World Cup game of Germany vs. Argentina, and after that last free kick I think all of Magdeburg went crazy! People screaming, cars honking, lots of excitement! When this hot air balloon came floating by, everyone started waving their German flags and yelling "Deutschlaaaaand!" to the people in the balloon. I could have joined in the fun, but I was too busy taking photos. :)

For some reason baloons are an incredible picteresque element in pictures. Your composition with an intensive forms and colours of flying baloon and waving flag only that rule confirms. Good moment to take the photo, congrats! Agnieszka

Very nice and fresh photo from the celebrations during yesterday's match, Erin. Good effect with the silhouetted guy and buildings and the flag looking luminous in the backlight - and of course a fine and unexpected interest provided by the hot-air balloon in the sky. Well captured.

P.S. The spelling is "Fieber" ;)

A very beautiful photo, which consists of graphic elements and which color red and black places into the center. The ascending ballon and the national flag high-held symbolize hopefully that Germany gets ahead with the football WM. Greeting, Wolfgang

Beautifully seen opportunity Erin - nice to see the light through the flag and the juxtaposition with the balloon - there is such excitement in these moments - would that more of the 'excitement' of history would be around these happy and 'friendly' events - competitive yes but relatively harmless....i think you've got the light really well caught here.

this is a great shot erin ... and i'm a little disappointed that you haven't received more points for it.

i like the semi-silhouette and the german flag. the balloon is a really bright and nice central subject to the composition.
