Photographer’s Note

This is one of the most famous thatched cottages of the island Ruegen. It is located in the small village Groß-Zicker and is called the "Pfarrwitwenhaus", which means something like "house of the parson's widow".
It was built ca. 1720, after the parson has died and left his widow fundless.
It is one of the oldest tenements at Ruegen, today it is totally renovated and is a small museum for the living at Ruegen in the past.

Guten Morgen, Hartmut!
Ein Foto, das auf Anhieb gute Laune macht. Sooo viel Gemütlichkeit und Schönheit - ein Traum! Der Himmel passend zur Haustüre, was will man mehr? ;-)
Nur die Feuerversicherungsprämie für dieses Häuschen möchte ich nicht zahlen ... ;-)

Hi Hartmut,
this is really a relaxing and quiet view. The POV is perfect, the fence leads the eyes toward this beautiful cottage (the roof is amazing). Great colors and sharpness too.

Bonjour Hartmut.
Cette petite maison et son toit de chaume bénéficient d'une belle lumière ce qui en fait une photo radieuse. J'aime la composition avec l'arbre et la barrière pour mettre cette demeure en valeur.

Une chaumière qui rend très bien sous ce ciel bleu dense et le bleu de la porte rappelle ce dernier.Une image bien paramétrée et bien cadrée.

Good Morning, Albert, This is a lovely photo of an exquisite cottage. Simplistic but attractive. The wooden fence gives depth to the building, and the slight view of the garden tells me, it was taken in Europe. Without being offensive, I must tell you that the sky is too dark blue. I believe you took this picture with a circular polarizing filter and it was not fine tuned enough to reduce the dark effect. This happens to me frequently and it is only a passing comment. I lived in Bremerhaven for over 3 years, 50 + years ago and am fond of shots like this one. Ein Malig. Roger

Ein interessantes Häuschen, das du mit einem sehr schönen Vordergrund eingefangen hast. Mit deiner Note habe ich schon wieder was gelernt! Das Licht ist sehr hart hier, aber man kann ja auch nicht immer nur früh oder abends fotografieren! Schön gemacht.

I like the wooden picket fence leading so nicely to the very special cottage!
It is a good thing this jewel has been taken care of and given a new life as a museum...
The wonderful rural surroundings are well captured, rich vivid colours and fine details!

Guten Tag Hartmut,

This type houses find them here in BOkrijk Belgium in the open air museum.
I am born on a very old farm in Flemish Belgium, also the roofs with reed to 1955.
Splendid composition, excellent presentation, real colour too.TFS.

Your composition is nice using the fence to lead the eye into the scene. The off center placement of the house is nice giving the photo a sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness. The great blue sky provides a nice backdrop for the scene.

Hallo Hartmut. Häuschen mit Blumengarten. Wirklich märchenhaft. Dieses kleine Haus wäre eine Vorlage für einen entsprechenden Film. Du hast dieses schöne Motiv photographisch excellent realisiert. Entgegen meiner Gewohnheit habe ich nachgelesen, wo dieses Schmuckstück steht. In Goehren. Man muss sich diesen Namen merken. Wirklich sehr schön. Viele Grüße, Wolfgang.
