Photographer’s Note

I'm reposting this low light shot, as the atmosphere and the moment in which I took it were very special to me and I wanted a somewhat crisper output, but without going over the limit.
I redeveloped the original DNG File with RawTherapee, particularly on luminance and colour levels in Gimp.

In previous posts I've told you about Brandenburg's State many lakes and rivers.
Here, south of the town of Storkow, some 50 Km SE of Berlin, I went on a long walk around the 'Groß Schauener' Lakes, which are a protected area and a bird-sanctuary taken care of by the Heinz-Sielmann Trust.
This region is home to the mighty osprey. There is even a webcam through which you can actually see this bird taking care of it's nest.

The lake's area has been left pretty much in its natural state
Therefore, there are not many places where you can get very near to the shores. When I discovered this one, the light was fading...which is what I wanted to capture in this shot, together with the reflection on the lake's surface.
Not having a tripod with me, I had to take this image handheld and go somewhat up with the ISO.
