El atrevido concepto de lo que ha de ser el nuevo distrito gubernamental para la ciudad berlinesa del siglo XXI fué el ganador de un concurso de arquitectura celebrado en 1992. Su construcción se inició en 1997 y se completó en el año 2003. El proyecto de Axel Schultes y Charlotte Frank consiste en un espacio rectangular que atraviesa el meandro del río Spree, justo al norte del Reichstag.

The bold concept of what has to be the new governmental district for the Berlin city of the 21st century was the winner of a contest of architecture celebrated in 1992. Its construction began in 1997 and was completed in the year 2003. The project of Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank consists of a rectangular space that crosses the meander of the river Spree, just north of the Reichstag.
