Photographer's Note

Surprisingly, Berlin Museum has an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts. This one was removed from the Hatshepsut Mortuary Temple near Luxor & dates from 1470 BC. It depicts Egyptian soldiers and Nubians with battle axes. Not sure of the significance of the sheafs of grain? German archeologists were at the forefront in excavations in Egypt and the Middle East/ Turkey.
