The Friedrichswerder Church was the first Neo-Gothic church built in Berlin, Germany. It was designed by an architect better known for his Neoclassical architecture, Karl Friedrich Schinkel, and was built under his direction, 1824-1831.
The building is currently part of the Berlin State Museums' ensemble, holding the Berlin National Gallery's collection of nineteenth-century German sculpture, showing works of Johann Gottfried Schadow, Karl Friedrich Schinkel and Christian Daniel Rauch among others. In the upper floor a huge exhibition of work and life of Karl Friedrich Schinkel is shown. (source: Wikipedia)

it is strange church interior which serves now as a museum. Very interesting combination. I like the way you took this photo: from high POV and perfectly symmetric composition. The presence of the people is very discreet and mixes with the statues in quirky way. Very good light and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day

Selam sevgili Deniz,

Ciao e buona giornata

You share with us a beautiful photograph. This is a well composed with efficient light management cliché. It is a cliché that has been pondered. Bravo.

what-no scaffolding there?:)
But even without it the interior looks impressive!Gothic has its "raw"charm I really like.
You´ve complained about the quality of the images from Sigma, but here everything seems to be ok. and wide angle makes really difference.
Have a nice evening

Great view of this former church ! Sweet colours and nice light management whereas it's not easy with the stained glass in front of us. Excellent job.

une très belle photo d'intérieur. Le rendu des couleurs est excellent, la netteté et la luminosité idéales permettent d'apprécier la richesse des détails de cette belle église.

I often have the impression that churches are museums, of sorts, so this is a very apt location.
It is a difficult shot, yet you have achieved fine details of elements and textures and achieved a great symmetrical composition.
My warm regards,

The dining hall of Harry POtters school! haha, sorry to be so commercial but it does summon up that image. Of course, this place is more beautiful than that, because this is real. Down below all of the various sculptures make a fascinating view, almost like looking at the frozen hall of statues of Medusa herself, while my gaze is instantly drawn to the light pouring through that beautiful window. A wonderful scene and shot, really enhanced by the long shadows.
Thanks as always

We see clear this nice ceiling and lovely galleries at both sides.

I've heard about this unique place but never had a chance to visit. I'll be in Berlin in June so need to put that on my list to do:)
This a fantastic interior shot taken with great light management and very good sharpness. Like symmetrical frame which built an eye-catching depth of the scene. TFS!

Hi Deniz, I missed this place, what a pity. Many churches are like the best museums but catholic churches are rather without such statues. Splendid idea to make a museum in beautiful gothic interior. Not possible in Poland but I saw photo exhibition in the church of Amsterdam (and the red light district around, funny). Although built in nineteen century, the interior is magnificent. You show it in marvelous light and stunning sharpness. I like here the shadows of visitors.
When I was in Berlin the weather was too good to go to museums, I must go once more :)

Awesome capture of the interior of this beautiful church! Love those old buildings, they are so stylist and elegant especially the high ceilings. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Merhaba dear Deniz
The light management here is so subtle. It really creates a particular mood. The symmetry is superb and you've obtained such intricate details, despite the difficult light conditions.
Warmest wishes, thanks for sharing
