Photographer’s Note

Brandenburg Gate is a former city gate and one of the main symbols of Berlin and Germany. It is located west of the city center at the intersection of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which one formerly entered Berlin. One block to the north stands the Reichstag. The gate is the monumental entry to Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees which formerly led directly to the city palace of the Prussian monarchs. It was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and built by Karl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791. The Brandenburg Gate was restored from 2000 to 2002 by the Stiftung Denkmalschutz Berlin (Berlin Monument Conservation Foundation). Today, it is considered one of Europe's most famous landmarks.

a parte la bellissima e famosissima porta di Brandemburgo, anche in questo caso l'inserimento della carrozza in primo piano rende la composizione molto più piacevole ed interessante.

Cavalli a statue e cavalli vivi alla porta di Branderburgo, bella immagine di vita in una delle piazze più importanti di Germania.gran bello scatto.

Hi Silvio, Nice view of the Brannderburg gate, when I see your photos (and earlier the ones by Fis2), I would like to go there and to see how it looks like now. I was there in timewhere you could not even approach it. nice lively composition.

allora anche a Berlino hanno le carrozzelle come a Roma. bello l'accostamento tra i cavalli veri e quelli della porta.

a nice shot of Brandenburg Gate,
back light shows us its dignity very well.
this horse-cart looks for visitors, but it fits this historical gate.
horses on the gate and horses on the ground make interesting contrast.
