Photographer’s Note

The Gendarmenmarkt is a square in Berlin, and the site of the Konzerthaus and the French and German Cathedrals. The centre of the Gendarmenmarkt is crowned by a statue of Germany's poet Friedrich Schiller. The square was created by Johann Arnold Nering at the end of the seventeenth century as the Linden-Markt and reconstructed by Georg Christian Ungerin 1773. The Gendarmenmarkt is named after the cuirassier regiment Gens d'Armes, which was deployed at this square until 1773.
During World War II most of the buildings were badly damaged or destroyed. Today all the buildings are restored to their former state.

bel scatto di questa bella piazza, mi sembra leggermente pendente a sx, io ci sono stato in gennaio con gran freddo e neve.
Mi piacerebbe esserci a Castelluccio, ti faccio sapere se riesco a liberarmi...

That's a pretty interesting and truly beautiful cityscape with impressive architecture in all the buildings! Sharpness, exposure, colors are all excellent! The viewpoint was very well chosen and the composition is wonderful and attractive!

yes those are destroyed in WW2, I saw the photo of damaged figure in my childhood, now restored view is great and wonderful.
the sky is wide and unchangeable, from past until now. your composition is meaningful.

Hello Silvio,
Mi sembra che tutto è un poco inclinato sulla sinistra.
Ma la vista di questa piazza è molto bella, con una perspettiva ottima e una luce molto piacevole, valorizzata con le nube.
E un peccato che c'è una macchiolina sul tuo obbiettivo.

I have been to many Asian capitals but never to Berlin ... What a shame, but you can show me around. I guess you are a pretty good guide. Your sharpness and DOF are amazing, despite not having the best of weather. The sun is lightening up the square, what adds fresh colorfulness. Well done
