Photographer’s Note

Potsdamer Platz is an important public square and traffic intersection in the centre of Berlin, Germany, lying about one kilometre south of the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag (German Parliament Building), and close to the southeast corner of the Tiergarten park. It is named after the city of Potsdam, some 25 km to the south west, and marks the point where the old road from Potsdam passed through the city wall of Berlin at the Potsdam Gate. After developing within the space of little over a century from an intersection of rural thoroughfares into the most bustling traffic intersection in Europe, it was totally laid waste during World War II and then left desolate during the Cold War era when the Berlin Wall bisected its former location, but since the fall of the Wall it has risen again as a glittering new heart for the city and the most visible symbol of the new Berlin.

Hello Silvio,
A good night time capture of this large square. I like the point of view and the inclusion of the light trails in the foreground, which bring a great sense of dynamism. The exposure is perfectly managed. Good tonal contrasts between the cool blue sky and the foreground lights. Excellent clarity.

questo è un tipo di foto che vorrei sperimentare anche io, prima o poi lo faccio.
Bhè ottima la definizione dei palazzi e ovviamente mi piace il gioco delle macchine che lasciano la scia.
Una composizione anche questa di tutto rispetto!

per chi ama viaggiare non esiste cosa piu' bella del conoscere posti nuovi e viverli a qualunque ora del giorno.

cambi soggetti rispetto a qulche giorno fa, ma i risultati non cambiano.Gran bella foto, l'apertura più lunga ti ha permesso questa scia di auto che rendono la foto più dinamica.

this is a very German-ish shot, in my feeling,
the figure of modern buildings, and flowing lighted cars show us the contrasted essence of German spirits.

Inconsapevolmente, dopo che ti ho fatto morire d'invidia col mare sardo, posti una foto che fa morire d'invidia me. Saranno tre o quattro anni che non riesco a trovare il modo per andare a Berlino, salta sempre fuori qualcosa che me lo impedisce. Grazie comunque di questa immagine magnifica, dove le luci artificiali contrastano magnificamente col blu del cielo.
