Photographer’s Note

A football field above the roof?... It may look strange but that is the view from above, on the typical Hausmann period houses sixth floor 'mansardes',originally used for lodging the maids, in the bourgeois families, but now too expansive for 95% of the French!.

Un terrain de foot au dessus des toits?... ca semble bizarre, mais c'est pourtant la vue d'en haut, sur ces mansardes typiques des immeubles haussmaniens, autrefois utilisées pour loger le personnel dans les familles bourgeoises, maintenant hors de portée de la plupart des Francais...

Un bon cliché pris en altitude qui nous permet de découvrir les "dessous" des immeubles et leurs cours intérieures et ce terrain de jeux avec les acteurs qui animent l'ensemble.

Hi Laurent,

The ilusion created by the angle is very interesting. I like the image because is clear plus it show us an interesting array of roofs. The field seem very smooth, almost like is made of astroturf. Good point of view. Cheers :-)

Having a football field on a roof top makes sense to me ... just maximizing every bit of space in a city where land would be very expensive. Interesting POV this one ... a well documented daily life scene. Wonderfully captured and presented. Well done! tfs

Elle est top cette photo, j'aime beaucoup cet effet de perspective. En plus l'image est d'une très belle qualité, les lumières apportent un relief bien appréciable à cet ensemble de toits. Je trouve que l'équilibre de l'image est parfaite. Un point de vue percutant et original, bravo Laurent.

La vue sur les toits est formidable, le POV génial mais je ne comprends pas bien à quel niveau se trouve le stade de foot : tout en bas de ces immeubles j'imagine et pas "au dessus des toits" ?
Le reste de la note est "utile" à mon avis, c'est au niveau des niveaux que je suis perplexe.
Ceci dit, une photo très originale et amusante !

I tried to find if there could be an explanation in this first class composition and the failure of the French national team on the European Championship, but I couldn’t find a convincing point although training on a roof seems not to be the right place.

Belle image et composition originale ! les couleurs sont douces , la netteté est très bonne et surtout le pov est excellent. On dirait un assemblage d'images n'ayant rien a voir l'une avec l'autre créant une curiseuse persepective. c'est ce qui fait la force de cette photo car l'oeil s'accroche et analyse chaque plan...
Félicitations pour cette prise de vue urbaine !
