Photographer’s Note

A short series of simple compositions depicting the village of Budos.

Budos is a small village (population just over 600), which stands on the river Ciron in the Graves wine growing area of the Gironde département. It is located not far from the much more famous wine village of Sauternes. As may be imagined, the principal economic activity of the village is viticulture.

Budos is also one of the largest sources of water for the region, providing water to the southern part of the Bordeaux conurbation.

Très bonne idée de photographier cette mairie qui faisait souvent office d'école primaire, il y a bien longtemps maintenant. Son architecture méritait bien une photographie. Bel environnement. Très bon cadrage valorisant parfaitement ce bien communal.

Sous un ciel peu favorable, c'est une image simple et belle d'une mairie classique à la française. les couleurs du drapeau et les fleurs sont les bienvenues. Le cadrage est bien vu pour ce travail efficace.

Well composed image with good use of the diagonal of the roadway making the scene easy to read. The tricolore waving in the breeze is a good feature of the imaage. Well done

Hello Stephen,

Perfect perspective through the long wall together with the street those us leads to very depth in background.
Exactly a cityhall or the house of the notary, very nice house splendid architecture out of the 19 century.

One of the very representative buildings in a french village, you might try a small challenge being having on one photo the mairie, the school and the church, the three pillars of the republic ! Needless to say, it requires very small villages. Good rendering in these cloudy surroundings, and as it seems enough speed to freeze the floating flag
