The dragon's head as a methaphor for Confucius, the famous Chinese thinker and social philosopher.

The confused expression of the Dragon's head is showing me the deep thinking and relentless studying of society as Confucius was propagating. ;-)

A previous photo of the Dragon's tail can be found here!

Street shooting with my 50mm 1.4D. Street photography; Normal people, working people, lazing people, everyday circumstances. Most of the time.

This photograph is part of my theme "Portraits by Dennis (Europe)".

Hi Dennis,
Looks like I missed the tail when you posted it, but at least I made it on time for the head! I'm not sure that dressing up as a Chinese dragon is an efficient way of raising money for earthquake victims, but it sure does make a colorful subject for the photographer. Another good portrait shot, even if this time, the subject is not looking at you.
Have a nice evening.

Hi Dennis
I like the quality of this 50mm f/1.4 ! The colours are beautiful and the subject didn't seem to see you. Great work

Hi Dennis Peter Bours,

In a single day, while being with a group of friends, you were able to put so many good shots in the can while my camera remain in the bottom of my backpack most of the time.... Yes, there's the talker and the shooters. You belong to the second category... Me, I just can't shoot while other people are around.

But I appreciate your discipline and the way you make that day very profitable for your gallery. This Chinese lion puppeteer is a good catch, with an expression of confusion indeed. The iconic mascot is bold and colourful of course, but the interest is focus right there, in the mouth of the lion; that's where the unexpected moment happened and you were quick enough to immortalized it.

Cheers!

André

Hallo Dennis,
Uw reeks in Lille is echt de moeite. Iedereen die uw beelden ziet wilt het met zekerheid proberen: Enkel de standard lens en op zoek gaan.

Dennis,
Your dragon's head shot make me laugh, once again. It's so comical the person inside. This lion or dragon dance scared me when I was little. When they come around during Chinese New Year, I would ran to hide in my bed. I hated them, it's low, it's urgly and scarely looking thing, for a child anyway. At least now, you make me laugh about it. That's a twist. Thanks for that. Technically, all is fine. My complement.

He he this one made me chuckle Dennis - it's good to catch the person behind the mask like this - perhaps not the strongest composition as an image overall but the moment of capture of the person - those eyes! Magic!

bw (a far too busy) Kev...(and apologies just remembered I didn't comment on those three images you sent ) did you enter?

hi Dennis,
I wonder what's more challenging - being a tail or a head :) both photos are great and would make an interesting interior piece, but for some reasons I cannot yet define I think I like the tale of the tail better. may be the background here is still a bit too busy, may be it's a bit too dark for my taste (compared to the tail photo). I certainly appreciate the irony of the moment in this photo, the timing is perfect.

regards,
Kristine
