During the Middle Ages, Corsica was covered with surveillance towers on the main lines of communication. They were intended to monitor trade in goods and protect the "piève". In general they were located not far from where castles lived lord.
This ruined tower is located on the variant of hiking trail Mara Mare near North Corté. She dominated the plain and entering the valley. Vis a vis another tower located Corté Likewise, it could alert the town of danger.
If you want to see, just 30 minutes walk from the RN 193. The path from the highway at a place called "Valletto" arranged to stop for cars. Just push a small barrier marked "a mare mare" and follow the path that climbs gently. You'll see soon ruined walls of the ancient tower guard. |

Bonjour Marie,
Bises
Pierre
