| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A gloriously clear day for flying, all the way from Manchester to Paris-CDG. The obvious stretches of coast were visible from 30000+ feet, especially Southampton Water, the Solent and IOW, and even the mouth of the Severn. Actually crossing the coasts was fairly unremarkeable but this meandering ribbon of cloud could only be in a river valley and it had to be the Seine. The sharp edge of the river valley is shown on the left of the picture with (I think) Rouen to its right. I'm sure regular travellers have noted many times how different the field pattern and colours appear in these two lands seperated only by 25 miles of water. Britain is no where near as brown as France, our fields are still mainly green (and my garden lawn - soggy!) :(
Apart from resize and sharpen only auto-levels applied in PSE.

Bonjour Peter - Great view! A natural patchwork...
I've read your request about the name Seine-Maritime being not available in the "State" window...
In fact you can fill a "city" in the right box and a "administrative region" in the left one.
Seine-Maritime is a departement and part of the region Haute-Normandie. [See here some infos]
