Just back from a short trip to Burgundy where I could appreciate the exceptional cultural and gastronomical patrimony.
One of my favorites was this small medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois with this magnificent "Mise au tombeau du Christ" carved in 1490 by Guillaume Chandelier.
I was in a very uncomfortable position, behind a glass window and an iron fence... and without a tripod(!) but wanted to share with you this nice piece of artwork illuminated in a way Rembrandt would have enjoyed (chiaroscuro). |

Hi Eric ,
Nice theme and impressive atmosphere. The spot light makes the whole subject so artistic so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing,
George
Hi Eric,
without a tripod, behind a window ecc... you took a great shot! Good diagonal composition, delicates but charming colors and a fantastic chiaroscuro! (it reminds me about Gherardo delle Notti, more than rembrands: full of pathos, but not gloomy)
Regards,
Laura
P.S. thank you for the interesting note
Bertrand
