Saint-Pierre Church, XIXe Century

It is a church of style neo-romance to only one nave, of an elegant sobriety.
2nd Sunday of July, the palavasiens honour Saint-Pierre, the Patron of the fishermen, and all those which are disappeared in sea.

Phare de la Méditerranée, "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean Sea", XXe century.

The "Phare de la Méditerranée" is not a lighthouse, it shelters the Municipal Office of Tourism, the Palate of the Congresses and a panoramic restaurant turning. High of 45 meters, the building was built from 1998 to 2000 starting from an old concrete water tower buildt from 1942 to 1943. Two elevators carry out to the promenade deck and the restaurant on the higher floor.

Palavas-les-Flots is a seaside resort located at 12 km from the center of Montpellier, on the Gulf of Lion and Mediterranean. Its emerged territory is composed of dune cords separating two ponds and the sea. The principal agglomeration is with the outlet of the channel which connects the coastal river Lez to the sea. It is one of the principal seaside resorts attended by Montpelliérains and Héraultais of the back-country.
