66- St Gwenole Fountain Photo

Photographer’s Note

To add to my group theme:" Breton sacred fountains", here is a very simple one, which means it's very old, and didn't get the architectural edifice that some others got around the 16th, 17th centuries.
Well, I liked the simplicity of the setting and thought the gnarled trunk gave as good an effect as any piece of architecture.
As a devotion, people used to throw little crosses made of twigs, in it; and they would pray the saint for good crops.

24-10-07: Thanks to Bazal, I think I have improved my photo a little,by making a tighter crop, to get rid of the overexposed area behind the tree.

Beautiful and interesting fountain and church, Marie Louise, your set of images is good and well composed with the main interesting views of the place, under the photographic POV I much like your first ws about the whole view of the church, but the details of the fountain are nice too, well done, compliments.

Salut Marie Louise,
the composition of this view is lovely, the trunk well positioned and the fountain diagonal behind on the other half. The trunk itself is also wonderful to view at, good texture. The background has several flaws. The less sharpness would work in better contrasts and the overexposure on both sides of the trunk is heavy.

Bonjour Marie-Louise,
Tu ne passes pas souvent sur TE, et c'est dommage car tes images sont toujours intéressantes et qui plus est, bien réalisées. J'aime la simplicité naturelle de cette fontaine et l'oeuvre d'art elle aussi naturelle qui la pare. Bravo.

A nos fontaines sacrés héritées de la tradition druidique et "récupérée" par les évangélisateurs. Elle est effectivement toute simple celle-ci, mais elle est passée à travers les siècles. Une belle photo avec ce tronc superbe qui vient bien équilibré la compo.

Tout simple mais tellement chargé d'histoire.
Un peu de surex à l'arrière mais un bel arbre bien modelé devant.

Salut Marie Louise,
L'endroit est très intéressant avec la fontaine d'aspect très rustique et l'arbre noueuse.
Mais, franchement, elle n'est pas si intéressante comme Photo. La lumière n'as aucun contraste et le OE est dommage.

La vue de ce vieil arbre écorché jusqu'aux tripes est fort bien balancée par la masse de cette roche cimentée à la verticale, ce qui compose une disposition attrayante.

Un'altra bellissima fonte. Da noi le fonti sono soggette a molte storie di stregne e di folletti, sopratutto una sorta di donna con gambe da capra che si chiama Anguana. Questa amagliava gli uomini con il suo canto e una volta "ipnotizzati" non tornavano più a casa.

Jolie image documentaire sur ces fameuses fontaines sacrees. la simplicite de la photo s'accorde effectivement a celle des lieux et laisse l'imagination s'approprier l'atmosphere de ces endroits. Un cadrage un peu plus serre aurait ete interessant, aussi.
