Hello John
A beautiful composition of spring. The foliage of the tree gives a beautiful key to the image.
I see that there you spent a good moment.
Beautiful composition with an interesting note.
Good end of day.

Until I read the last sentence I was impressed by your contacts in the French aristocracy :D. It looks like two seasons in one with the bare branches next to the tree in seemingly autumn colours. Your low POV works well and the shadowed wall is used to frame the bottom of the image. The castle is pleasantly illuminated in soft light. Good work

Hi John,
Really wonderful composition from a low point of view. The colourfull tree creates a beautiful contrast and the castle in the back looks great. Splendid work!

Hej John,
A lovely view with a well chosen low POV. The red tree is beautiful and I like the fact that the other tree has no leafs, so that it allows us to see the castle too through its branches. The light is also very pleasing, adding a wonderful mood. Thanks for sharing!

Hi John,
Although the foreground is a bit dark, it still have enough detail in the foliage. The chateau is a bit behind the tree but we have a nice impression of it. Of course is the red leave tree on the left the key part in this image. He gives to good contrast with his nice deep red colour that it brakes fully in contrast with the green and blue...perfect..!!!

Hello John.
Lovely composition and light. Beautiful colour and composition. Very simple and un-cluttered. Well done.
Regards, Steve.
Hmm, not sure about this one John. If the subject is the chateau, then we can't see enough of it, and if the subject is the trees, then I think trying to exclude the bare-branched tree might have worked better. The tree with the red leaves is very attractive though.
The fern covered wall is a nice detail, but it's really too dark to make out much of it.
On the plus side the light is excellent - soft morning light.
Cheers,
Ben

A week? Wow, what a nice experience it must have been, John. You made a very interesting and original composition here. The Castle vision, is like a mirage and the woods gets the main role. This FG makes my imagination go wild: as if you were arriving from a long battle in the dark woods. You were lost and suddenly, the sweet vision of home is in front of your eyes.

Bonsoir John
j'aime bien la texture de la compo : on dirait une peinture. Bel effet de cet arbre rouge. J'aime bien le cadrage que tu as effectué.
amicalement

An interesting POV but I feel the chateau is a bit lost in this image. Perhaps if it were more central and framed by the trees?? I think the colour of the tree on the left is beautiful and compliments the blue sky and using those colours to frame the old stone chateau would be quite effective.

Bonjour John,
bien évidemment que je vais aimer cette photo, elle a tout de beau.
Ses couleurs pour commencer avec cet arbre bien rouge sui s'impose au milieu des autres teintes, et ce chateau un peu masqué , mais bien cadré.
Belle ambiance campestre.
Regards.

Once you've stayed in chateau you are spoiled for anything else! I was lucky to stay in one in the Loire valley last year and it was a wonderful experience. Great shot too, with the stone building peaking up from behind the hill and the tree, like a hidden jewel. Nicely done!

Hello John,
Interesting pair, one with leaves, the other leafless. I like the how the building is semi-concealed behind the tree's silhouette. Low pov worked well. Regards,

Hello John -
This image is just a little bit different from most of your others. Here we are offered a walk in the shadows and a peek through a tree at an old château. At first my reaction was that John has finally posted a bad image with what looks like OE in the BG. But, in looking at the image the extremely bright area behind the tree leading to the château works very well, IMO. There is some detail in the shadows though I would like to see just a bit more this image is properly exposed and well thought out. Bravo John!
Thank you for sharing.
John

Well John...
It feels like AGES since I was last in contact with you.
I've just returned back from Canada, and am feeling bad that we never got a chance to get the TE group together again.
I didn't have alot of time to work with as I was in Surrey for a few days at a friends wedding, then travelled with the family into the interior with stops in Kamloops, Revelstoke, Banff, Radium, Cranbrook and Osoyoos...
Overall- it was a great trip, but again- dissapointed I never got a chance to meet up with the BC TE group.
Now- onto the shot....
I like the overall look of this one. The tree on the left almost seems to be painted in, and I like the bare branches of the tree and how combined with the hint of mist- they add mystery to the building behind.
Nice work John,
- Dan

Hello John
I like the warm vs cold colour contrast between the red foliage of the tree & the blue sky. Excellent graphism of the dark, dead tree, silhouetted against the lighter bg sky. Tfs!

What is really stunning in this picture is the colors and rendering of the tree. A true painting, a fantastic feeling. I like it a lot. The composition is good as well. I maybe would have liked a wall a bit less dark in the foreground, you could have tried to selectively lighten it a bit possibly by using shadow/highlight in Photoshop.

Hello John
I do like the succesive layers provided by the hill the trees and the castle, however I find that the castle would have been best if it wasnt so hidden by the branches.

John, c'est une photo qui donne un grand plaisir. J'aime cette composition où le château se cache derrière un arbuste. L'arbre roux devient le sujet principal. Le grain est le bienvenu dans ce cliché qui se rapproche d'un pastel.

Hi John,
A beuatiful way to show a chateau without getting too architectural. I love the way you've created the atmosphere you describe in your note by letting the trees take center stage.
That's the one of things I like learning about the world; it sounds like a real find!! I've been taking notes on your trip; a barge cruise through France ois on my list although my next commitment is Ireland next summer.

Hello John,
This is such a beautiful and serene shot. I love the darkness in the foreground which creates a great contrast with the beautiful bright sky and trees with a little view of the Chateau! Great composition with excellent light, colours and details!

Hello John,
What a spectacular place to spend a week. Your photograph shows a most salient angle of the the castle, with an air of mystery created by the partial representation. The red tree on the left, the distant trees in the mist — this is a magical view.
Warm regards,
Bulent

And thanx for the B&B tip John, I had xactly the same thoughts as Kath by thye way ;-), the chateau will be on our shortlist when visit this region.

Hello John,
A lovely composition with a kind of strange atmosphere, probably the spring mood!
Tender colours and fine details, the composition is well balanced and with good lines...
Low point of view works well!
Greetings,
Pablo -
That's pretty well composed and most of all realized, despite complex focus and light management I suppose. Handsome and clever...
Your french serie is really excellent.

Your POV is fantastic, and you used so perfectly the light and colors... An outstanding one !
