Photographer's Note

This is one of the 15000 concrete works that the Germans established in front of the Atlantic ocean following an order of March 23rd 1942.

With a wall thickness of almost 2,10m this casemate was aimed at defending the beach against any shot coming from the sea.

This casemate from Biville is still in place, though with time it has been tilted and appears to be drowning in a sea of cobblestones.
