Photographer's Note
the opera in Lille impressed me by his size. It's like a massive rectangular block in the middle of nowhere. And i think the B&W give more intensity and show a more dramatic side...

I know this building (my wife is from Lens, near Lille) and I think you did it well: bw is great, good contrast, and the small people emphasize the opera size

The BW was a good choice because it enhances the shapes and volumes of the building. Also like the perspective distortion that create an imposing image as well the positioning of the lamp.
I just feel that the crop is too tight because it cuts the top of the bulding and the left part. An option is to allways shoot a bit more space around the main subject and then crop it in the pc at our liking.

Nice one Laurent, the B/W works very well. A fine piece of architecture, this building. How old is it actually?
I mostly like how these 3 people in the bottom are connected with eachother. The first on the left, on the stairs being the most distant from the camera. Then the person in the middle and on the right, gradiently closer to the camera...
Good shot, well done!
