Photographer’s Note

This was just before the clouds mask mountains.
If you look close, in between the two pics, you can see two alpinists that give you the reel scale of this rocks, and far far in the back, in the middle of the white snow, there is a track, yes the small line, this is the way to 'Mont Blanc' from 'l'Aiguille du Midi' ,Chamonix. To do this trip, you need, for sure to be in good physical condition, and spend 24 hours at 3842 m, usually in a tent, and then you ready to wake-up at 4 in the morning, if you can sleep, to be on top for the sunrise.

Hey, great photo!!I´m crazy about the texture of the snow when well captured, as you done with your photo!! And the detail of the alpinists, it really comes out when I read your notes, but still I can't find them...

What a fantastic scene! The textures are incredible. Smooth, soft, jagged. It's all here. The lighting really helps accent it all. These clouds add a great touch, too. They blend the mountain with snow and the sky together in a way so it becomes so light in appearance. It's a great tight view, too. Very well done.

Fantastic photo Franck. I tried to go up the Aiguille du Midi Cable car last year- it was shut for maintenance! Can you recall your settings?- exposure compensation, low contrast to prevent the highlights blowing out, or did the 4500 handle it on auto? Interested as I have a 4500 too.
