Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken at the Foire du Trone, which has been occuring in Paris for over 1000 years. It is also the same carnival where Amélie goes, in the film "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain", to find Nino who is working in this "ghost train" ride.
Compared to the film, I do not think this is the exact same ride since I assume they change from year to year, but it does have the same name and is in the same location. Also in the film, Amélie went there on a Wednesday and there was hardly any other people, I went on a Sunday and as you can tell there were lots of people. I decided to leave them in the shot because I think they help to demonstrate the diverse cultures here in Paris.
Postprocessing: I cloned out a wire that was running across the ferris wheel and cloned out a pole that was sticking up behind the ride.

Michele, I love how your photos continue to revisit the locations of the "Amélie" movie (and the theme you created to collect the related shots is wonderful). This one is very vivid and alive with a pleasantly busy and colorful "Sunday afternoon at the fair" kind of mood. A good candid view of the crowd in front of the ferris wheel and the "train fantome" ride. Great shot, I hope you'll continue to fill the theme ;-)

I must show this to my daughter. Amelie is her favourite film. She found the cafe last time she was in Paris, and lost all the snaps she took of it when our laptop was stolen. I back up now.
