[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hard to find a title for this postcard from Paris. The tower is well known and so is La Seine with is bridges and river trafic. The statue in the foreground is part of Pont Alexandre III.

I had been trying to find a way to include the large figures on the midpoint of Pont Alexandre III into something when the barge approached. Of course I was at the end of the bridge and I had to make a sprint back to the middle but I think it work out fairly well.

This is a nice view. The idea of having the statue in the foreground is good. I like the contrast between the lively, golden colour of the statue's crown and the overall greyish aspect of the background - it adds life to the photo. I only wonder what would it give if the statue was framed differently, this hand is kind of bulky...But it's difficult to know without seeing it there.

Very interesting decision for composition, Ebbe! :-) I am amazed how a dark and moody weather can be presented in a finer way by adding a touch of golden colour to it. The framing with the statue is a very bright idea for me. I like it. Very well done!

Original composition with three strong points : the statue, the boat and the Eiffel Tower.
The gold on the statue gives an excellent dimension to the image.

it works beautifully ebbe! i like this choice you made to include everything on one photo;-) perfect compo! almost b&w except for the golden laurel crown... i like it a lot! always interesting to see what people can come up with in your own hometown...thanks!

Your composition works perfectly here Ebbe! looks like the guy is introducing us to the familiar Paris view.
Did you reduce saturation? the low saturation (whether natural or man made) works very well with the golden crown.

Great you've chosen this foreground.

Good composition good depth, good colours, it's a very good job.

Very original shot! I like your composition: 3 picture inside one. It is very good. The statue's head with gold crown is perfect, but its hand is a little bit heavy for the frame. May be will be better to crop a bit from bottom, imho. However, very original and very well seen!

Belle lumière très parisienne quand il ne fait pas très beau en Ile de France ; la mise en scène est humoristique avec l'oeil de la statue qui se détourne de la vulgaire barge moderne

Avis d'un Parisien : pas facile de photographier Paris sans être banal... Ici, c'est, pour moi, une réussite : cadrage impeccable dans les lignes horizontales et verticales, il y a une lumière ; la photo raconte une histoire bien au-delà d'un simple constat, c'est nickel !

Hi Ebbe, and thanks for your critic on my picture, a pleasure your words coming from an expert of BW as i read your intro :)
My turn to try to be an expert, a parisian expert, your picture is really original, i've seen many and many picture from paris and this one is perhaps the most original i've seen for long now, using this part of bridge in foreground is very well done, great eyes, this is an underrated picture for sure.
Then you got the boat to enhance the whole compo, and of course 'la dame de fer' ;)
