Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken below the Arago Cave near the village of Tautavel in Southwestern France. In 1971 the skull of a young man was discovered here and found to be 450,000 years old. He is thereby easily the oldest man in Europe. The cave which overlooks this valley where the river Verdouble runs out of a gorge and forms a small lake before running down the valley contains signs that it was inhabited in far gone prehistoric times. So these are the hunting grounds of prehistoric man in southern Europe. There is a very interesting museum in the village of Tautavel only 2 km away.

Superb landscape, but it has a bit of a blue magenta cast. I may try a workshop.
