Taken at the exhibition "Egypt's Sunken Treasures" at the Grand Palais in Paris.
"Some 500 spectacular pieces discovered during Franck Goddio’s underwater excavations, thanks to the Hilti Foundation, will be presented at the Grand Palais nave and retrace the history of Egypt from the last Pharaohs to Alexander the Great, from the Hellenic conquests to the Roman Empire, and from the Christian era to the rise of Islam."
The exhibition will take place from the 9th of December 2006 to the 16th of March 2007.

I love how you have captured the light and the shadows of the art. Also, the curvature of the roof above almost adds movement to the photo.

Interesting mix in this image.
However, the sculpture alone, with that wonderful light and shadow, it would give a nice photo too.

This is a beautiful photo of a statue from the 'Egypt's Sunken Treasures' exhibition, but who does ht statue represent? Is it known. It is beautifully illuminated; I cannot decide whether I like it better with the roof above the panel shows (it is somewhat detracting), but would it be better to have just the statue?
Thank you for letting us all know about the exhibition, and happy new year.

Superb light. The ceiling makes it better. Is that a panel on which the but is hanging?
In any case, fine image. The sharpness is enviable.

Nice play with lights and shadows! I like the fact that the ceiling is so drastically cut off from the wall. The photo itself seems divided.
Good one :)
