Photographer's Note

BOURGUEIL III .
After posting a few pictures of the vineyards in Restigne, I wanted to show some photos of the little village itself.
I took the photo of this kiosk early in the morning, as the sun had only come out. It is situated behind the church and was built in the 19th century.
It has two levels: The 1st one, half underground, was used to lock up the wanderers for a few days. It was aerated by 4 loopholes, 2 of which can be seen on the photo at ground level.
The 2nd one was probably used like most kiosks for public speaking, music playing etc...
In WS, I will add 2 other photos: one of the church and town hall, and one of a typical house of the region, all made of tuffeau, the typical stone of the Loire valley.
The 3rd WS is a photo of the same kiosk taken in better light, but without the church behind. However, it has the presbytery, which is an interesting building too.
