Photographer’s Note

Today a small nature image from the Restonica valley in Corsica, a hikers paradise. I know it's not everybody's taste to have the waterfall in the blurred area but I did it so for a change and because given the small focusing distance to these mountain flowers I would have required a very close aperture to get everything sharp as I did here.

it does not show at this TE size but close to the top of the waterfall on the right size a tiny white spot was attempting to pixellize the waterfall, we know this tiny white spot here as Dominique.

Alors toi aussi tu as la nostalgie de la Corse? ;o)
Un joli bokeh. Moi j'aime assez la fluer au premier plan et la cascade floue derrière. Finalement ce murmelilens il sert à plein de choses, sauf pour les marmottes! En souvenir de ce chouette WE je t'ai mis un petit WS...

Bonjour, Jean-Yves. Elle est très jolie cette digitale. J'aime la place qu'elle occupe dans la photo et l'arrière-plan flou me plaît, je crois que c'est comme cela qu'il faut photographier les fleurs. J'apprécie aussi l'autre groupe de digitales qui apparaît comme en écho à l'arrière plan et la chute d'eau qui opart en diagonale.

Très jolie macro de cette digitale qui se détache sur un arrière-plan d'un flou artistique. Attention de ne pas se lécher les doigts, il paraît que cette fleur est toxique.

Salut Jean Yves, a lovely capture of this wild orchid. You have probably used a long zoom, judging by the shallow DoF at f/5.6, which makes the flower stand out against the scenery (although maybe I would go for an even shallower DoF to produce a more "abstract" bokeh). I like how the blurred waterfall is framed by two flowers.

Salut JY, I returned from the U.S. last night. Good use of DOF in this one to single out the mountain flowers and their vivid colors; it is very much to my taste here as this is clearly a situation where the deepest DOF would not be the best possible choice imho. Fun to see the "making of" in Bibi's WS ;o) Have a nice WE.

Bonjour Jean Yves, cela fait une semaine maintenant que je découvrais le terme BOKEH, maintenant j’ai compris, preuve en image, la tonalité des coloris avec le mélange des couleurs tendres et la fleur a la beauté trompeuse au premier plan font de cette vue idyllique un petit bijou d’esthétisme, la luminosité est très belle, le contraste des couleurs entre elle est très réussi, de même que le choix du format vertical, bien amicalement

On revient sur la Corse alors ! J'aime beaucoup la courte focale utilisée avec des cascades en arrière-plan. Les fleurs sont belles et colorées, un air d'été... ;-)

The vivid colour of the foxglove stands out very well against the background blur. I like the way you composed the shot almost using the flowers to frame the waterfall. I can't see any evidence of Dominique at all.

Tu as parfaitement composé cette photo.
La cersie sur le gateau est cette profondeur de champ très astucieuse, qui met en valeur la fleur mais ne nous prive pas pour autant du très beau paysage.

Voici un jolie Bokeh, la feu est idéalement placer avec celle de derrière et la chute en arrière plan.

j'aime bien ton choix ici, cette masse gris-vert en arrière plan met bien en valeur cette jolie fleur.
Et la chute est pil-poil bien placé entre les 2 fleurs violettes.

Beautiful shot! The close up of the flower is good, as is the waterfall behind it, but when you combine the two then the result is wonderful. Nice balance and a good sense of depth. Superb!

Je suis assez fan de cette image que je viens de découvrir dans ton album. Sans doutes parceque le côté naturaliste du cliché y est aussi présent que son aspect esthétique. La digitale trone dans l'écrin de verdure et de granite que ta composition lui donne. J'aime ton choix de focale mais j'avoue que j'aurai aimé voir aussi l'équivalent avec une profondeur plus importante pour comparer.
Ca reste de la bien belle ouvrage!

I like this composition a lot, I like the waterfall to be out of focus and the attention is going to the flower - otherwise the flower would be a bit lost.
Other flowers in the BG add a lot as well.
