'Tourists at the Eiffel Tower'
The well known ironwork of the Eiffel tower, on this day as with most days swarming with tourists basking in the towers magnificence.
*The Tower is made of iron built on the Champ de Mars beside the River Seine in Paris. It is the tallest structure in Paris and among the most recognized symbols in the world. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, it is a premier tourist destination.

The tower stands 300 m (1000 ft) high, which is about 75 stories. Including the 20.75 m (70 ft) antenna, the structure is 320.75 m (1070 ft) high which is about 81 stories. At the time of its construction in 1889, the tower replaced the Washington Monument as the tallest structure in the world, a title it retained until 1930, when New York City's Chrysler Building (319 m/1063.33 ft tall) was completed.

*The Eiffel Tower alone draws 6.2 million visitors yearly, So no wonder it is so busy day in day out.

It's so difficult to find something different on any of the well known places around the world. I checked on TE before posting my own shots of Eiffel Tower a few months ago and at that time I think if I remember correctly there were 41 pages!! I think you have solved the dilemma quite well by having the crowds as your subject and using the tower as a frame.

Hello James,
A different view of this famous monument, not showing the tower itself but rather the crowd gathered around it. I like the symmetrical composition, but it's just a pity that you didn't correct the horizontal lines to make them level. I did a WS to show you what I mean.
Have nice day.
Brigitte

Hi James,
nice and unusual idea! The original point of view breaks the common rule of monument photography, and is useful to understand the real dimension of the tower thanks to people on the grass.
Congratulations!

Good idea!!!!Nice composition symetrical of architechture add with many people.Good idea for Eiffel shot.
Regards.

I like your POV James, showing us the people under the tower on a lovely summer's day. Such a popular place to visit, and what a view from the top. Well done,
Janice

James,
I like this one from your collection of Paris. Very well framed by capturing only the lower part of the tower, but inlcuding more detail on the people.
Your not complements well my today's post.
Good job
Jorge
