This is a photo taken while the sun was setting. The background colours were just stunning. It was a shame that the sun was behind land. I then noticed these coloured cranes. So colourful and beautiful. Another member of TE recently posted a closer image of these - http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/France/South/Provence-Alpes-Cote-dAzur/photo438619.htm
A lovely sight. |

Paul, the photo need to cut twice vertically - there is tooo much of sky.
The rest of nice.
I don't think there is two much sky but Paul, if you really want to respect the rule of thirds, then you should have take the photo more on your left. The green and red cranes are too much in the center, and the blue ones too much on the right.
Paul, nice shot, great colour in the sky, and the colourful cranes provide a good point of interest.

Very good shot from Marseille. I enjoy realy much the colour of the sky. We call this place: "La Joliette".

Hi Paul
Interesting to see those cranes in color! They're usually an eye-sore in front of grand landscapes. Personally I like that big sky you've got as I can see a progression of color from white to reddish.
As for framing, a crop from the right would be nice to remove those streetlamps, they seem slightly obstrusive when compared to the cranes.
finally this is not sharp enough :S!!! Imho, night landscapes NEED to be sharp to look good! Why use 8 second exposure?!? Just use aperture f.8 with a shorter exposure = always full DOF + sharpness.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,

French... Only they can conceive a coloured lighting of industrial cranes... For this kind of things, they are simply great.
