Photographer’s Note
Another surprising thing about Lille is the quality of it's main art gallery, which rivals many in capital cities. It's also arranged in a way that provides some interesting photo opportunities.

Hi Richard,
Good to have you back... That is one HUGE doorway! It looks like one helluva building...
I think that vibrant red is key to this picture, especially as it nicely encapsulates that beautiful big doorway. Kind of a strawberries and cream effect...

Hi Richard
I like the red & white duo-toned color. Good sharpness, contrast & lighting. The people add scale & context. Tfs!

Hi Richard. I always like to see museum photos (they're among my favorite venues to shoot at as you know) and this one is really nice. The wine-red walls and the white door frames provide an elegant setting and I like how you used the high door as a see-through frame to the back. In the foreground, the two visitors provide the essential human element, and I like how your precise framing fits in the painting at the left and the vacant chair at the right.

Hi Richard, you were missed, at least by me, good to see you.
Nice catch, this couple sitting next to this very big entrance, I like the look through to these other rooms and on the triptych. And the colors are great, the white being so white, and the being so warm.
I also always though that Lile was a boring North French industrial city, but Bert opened my eyes for it with some very nice shots.

Good angle Richard to see also the paintings in the other hall, that copple at the white doorcase contrasting the red wall well balanced out with that one painting left and the chair the other side, a pleasing colored compo.

Hello Richard.
You are touching my weak point with this one. An extraordinary framing, which actually depicts many frames inside each other. My only regret here is the white bag, they are holding. You right when metioning the fact that this Museum is very elegant.
I wish you a great week - Izzet

hi richard,
this is a huuuge door!
love this immense size of it and immense area of purple;
obviously that couple look interesting but what strikes me most is the plastic bag the man is holding; shoping is over, time for some culture?
nice work,
best wishes, j.

The perfect colours for a museum/gallery and the view through door and through door is beautiful ! I don't like people in a picture, only when they are useful and here they are...

Hello Richard,
The door through a door scheme reminds me a little of a painting by the Dutch master, de Hooch. The composition, colors and exposure are exquisite in your photo. Regards,
Bulent
