Here is another picture of my little corner of paradise, the Chausey Islands, a small archipelago located in the Mont Saint Michel Bay in Normandy. It's a maze of rocks and small channels, changing all the time with the tide and the weather.

Here are some "doris", commonly used by fishermen to work within the archipelago. They are long and flat, perfectly adapted to move across the islands. They used to be moved by oars, but today they all have small engines.

In the background you can see the small houses that form the "village" of the Blainvillais, so called because it was founded by men coming from Blainville, a small town on the nearby normand coast. People would come to Chausey in the XIXth century, first to work as granit miners, and then as fishermen.

This picture was taken at high tide during the spring tide last march. In the WS, I put a picture of the same spot taken at low tide the same day: almost 13 meters of differences in water level...

[PS: The Chausey Islands are mercifully still ignored by Google Maps, so I can't show you where they are! :^)]

Joli, avec la lumière des Iles. Les bateaux bien en relief sur l'eau et un paysage plein de charme.. On s'y croirait

Bonjour Sophie... The secrets of tides are among the things I prefer to keep in the magic side of life: The sun, the moon, water going up and down, all magic for me. I like the light here, very Atlantic one, indeed, it´s the black light someone called here in Spain. I have also like the WS to appreciate the contrast. I think life must not be very easy there, almost back in time. Take care.

Un angle inhabituel donc très interessant pour cette vue de la grande ile.Le workshop est également instructif, on y retrouve le paysage lunaire typique de l'archipel.

une jolie compo, qui me ravit, alors que je risque de ne pas bouger pdt les vacances ... c'est beau et bien ficelé, et ton format panoramique n'a qu'un defaut ... il est trop court, on en redemande !!

Ton format pano renforce ta composition. Pour le cadrage et la compo c'est parfait. Avec la lumière pas très bonne, tu as un très bon résultat et les couleurs des barques apportent un petit air de joie.
J'imagine la même prise, mais sous un clair de lune avec quleques brumes bien disposées....

Salut Sophie,
Très belle photo simple avec un sujet intéressant. J'aime bien la combinaison terre-mer que vous proposez. Quelques corrections peut-être... Il y a un peu de bruit, qui peut être réduit facilement avec différents programmes. De plus, les parties arrières des bateaux bleus et rouges semblent surexposés. La partie terrestre de gauche est sombre, donc il aurait été bien aussi d'essayer cette photo d'un autre angle, c'est-à-dire de sorte à avoir les bateaux (incluant les cordages du plus à gauche) et les maisons dans le cadre, mais pas cette partie de côte. Mis à part ces menus détails, c'est une phto très agréable que vous avez faite.
Très bien vu.

c'est une photo très harmonieuse, bleu du ciel de la mer et des bateaux. J'aime beaucoup le calme qui s'en dégage.

J'adore le contraste et les jolies couleurs des barques. Le WS est impressionnant ouf je ne m'y promènerais pas avec mon voilier.

Your gallery is a dream, but I particularly like this one for it's light and melancholy atmosphere. The colours are subtle, but lovely and the composition is excellent. Did you move those boats to get them in the best position???!! Nicely framed. Great shot. Best wishes, Vicky
