Photographer’s Note
Taken on Top of the Maginot line along the France, German border. The defensive line was built to keep the Germans out of France. In the end it was never used as the Germans went around it through Belgium and captured the fortifications from behind.
I think this photo was taken in the Lorraine region of France, If anyone knows any better please tell me. I also do not know what city it is near to.
I hope you like this photo, and I look forward to your comments.

Interesting shot Andrew. Technically it needs rotation again, then you can get rid of the fence by cropping the bottom, you could also adjust levels and increase contrast and saturation, as well as sharpening. Otherwise very interesting!

Bonjour Andrew, I'm busy with correcting the location of region Lorraine.
The location here is wrong, you can't write Maginot as a place. Better would be to post it under: "Unknown". Could you do that please?
PS: The name "Maginot" comes from Andre Maginot, french minister of war, who was the creator, in 1930 already, of the fortification line which took his name.
I found some sites which could help to locate the right place. On this site: Maginot Line you can find a detailled map by clicking "Facts & Figures" and then "Geographical Map"

Andrew
As a fan of Maginot Line history, I can guess that this pictures has been taken at the Hackenberg near the village of Veckring in Moselle (north east of France). The foreground is part of Bloc 9 while you can see the Bloc 7 in the background (with a mobile machine-gun turret and 2 fixed turret known as cloche GFM).
Some pictures of Maginot Line can be seen on my website at http://www.mablehome.com/molvange/molvange.htm.
The picture is interesting but too blured and too dark. I think that you should have cut the wire fencing at the foreground too.
