Photographer’s Note
Here you see a picture of Locmariaquer, a village of western France, on the Westshore of the Gulf of Morbihan. Not bubbling over with life, just a peaceful place where you can find many small industries, all concerning oyster culture which I show to you with this picture.

Hans,
I really like the consideration shown in choosing the perspective in your photo. I love the looming oyster traps (or baskets) and the pretty village in the background across the lake. Well put together
Cheers

Hi Hans,
I just cross a computer in my Visit of Paris and region....
A quick look to see that you are posting Locmaria from last year. This is a great place and this work with the fishing equipment is a good one, I like this decorative foreground.
Well done

Goed werk!
Fijn weekend,

Hi Hans
Interesting shot and I like the collection of nets all bundled up together. Nice presentation here and some good depth as your have also included the buildings on the other side of the shore which provides good perspective. Nice work.

Hoi Hans,
John

Hi Hans.
This village is really superb and you've managed to present it through one of its more pittoresque activity: oyster growing. Nicely composed and good choice of POV.
Thanks for sharing.

Hej Hans,
Mooi werk!
Groeten,
Lars

Hi Hans,
I find it an excellent idea to introduce this view using the oysters bags, they provide a convenient eye leader to the village and a good daily life context. And... I'm crazy about oysters !
Have a nice week end,

Hi Hans,
Well composed with good use of the traps in the foreground. I also like the long grasses. There is good DOF, with the buildings in the village well seen. This seems like a tranquil, quiet spot. Well captured, Hans. Have a good weekend.

Hello Hans, nice point of view from this small fishing village in Brittany. The fishing baskets in the foreground brings nice details and make a good focus, while putting the houses into perspective.
I know that this area is famous for oysters, but I'm not sure these baskets are for oyster culture, they look more like traps for crabs or lobsters.

Great every day photo. The cages in the foreground add dimenstion and the water and housing add context. Well done.

Bonjour mon ami Hans,

Merci.

Hello Hans. I remember your Amsterdam scenes. This one is very appealing, with its viewpoint so well chosen, and the perspective line along the baskets pointing towards the spire across the river. I really like the texture of the baskets and grasses, and the light on the water. I agree with Sophie that they are probably traps for lobsters. I think oysters are 'farmed' on frames under the water, there's no need to catch them and they can't really swim. But that doesn't matter, the photo is still very good, a charming, rustic scene!

Andrew

Hello Hans,
having just returned from a month in France and eaten oysters for the first time, I can relate to this photograph, perhaps it's where my oysters came from? I like the perspective of your image, it gives good depth with the creels in the foreground. Excellent light and colour, a really fine capture.
Regards
Stephen
