Right... It took me about two months to upload at least a photo of the TE meeting we had in Paris : one month to get the film developped, another one to scan it. Not quite productive.

These are the Luxembourg gardens, past a vieux con you may remember, from Rinie's unforgettable shot.

You might ask why "the inquisitor"? I guess some die hard afficionados of John Clese and the band may already have understood. I'll give a clue here...Yet, he looks quite comfortable although it lacks soft cushions before he talks.

Yes, I admit I like these chairs, they always provide some quite good patterns to photo.

Very good - a candid image of Paris & one of it's citizens. B&W taken with a real camera & real film, I like it ;)

The vertical orientation is good, with the man stretching out across what are obviously very comfy chairs. He's relaxed & seemingly unaware of you & the camera.

And how long it takes to convert it to B&W? :-)))
Very nice photo depicting the atmosphere in the park.
TFS!

LUko.
Beautiful shot.
Nice vertical orientation os stretched leisure pose. Scatterted chairs creating that mood.

On background the nice lisure crowd captured in bokeh.
Nice shot.

Shailendra

Comfortable chairs, a good book to read, what else does one need. This one is good with crisp focus, nice tonality and good grain, though I like the graphic simplicity of your other one more.

There is most definitely something to the SUmmicron legend, Luko - something in the way the lens gives you that gentle "civilized" as opposed to "industriaalized" bokeh down in the nether reaches, and at 5.6 too! I used to frequent the Luxembourg as a child, staying with my grandmother, but that's a complicated story!
Neat way here that you capture the essence of the "VC" through his body language, and how the TRI-X treatment gives off a timeless air.
Very nice work,
-F

Hello Luko

bravo

Merci. Alain -

Hi Luko
nice picture, I like the b/w in this and the depth with the path, I might have liked it more if you didnt cut off the jackets hood or whatever that is on the left, the vertical format is nice in this and this is a good capture of daily life
Good job

Hi Luko,
The atmopshere is superb. And I'd believe this pic was from the 1950s as this has a great timeless feeling maybe due to film or lens you used, I don't know.
Great sense of geometry in pic (I like that line on ground + repetition of chairs) and good DoF management. Perhaps the white light (on his book and somebody's clothing) is tiny bit too harsh other than that this looks perfect to me.

Ahhh monsieur, bonsoir!!
I was already wondering if you were going to post something from that stroll in the Jardins de Luxembough, and yes, ere they are, the comfy chairs together with the inquisitor. He really makes use of this comfort, right? I think you should add it to Richard's theme.
I love the chaos of the chairs, Luko, it shows that people use this parc to the max, and that you can sit down everywhere you like. A lsice of the daily parc life.

Got a question, did you already try hot camembert??

Me too, love those uncomfy chairs... much better to have those than some padded horror... those have history, a style, they are so innately French! Sigh... miss the old world.
Love this candid shot, the man enveloped in his reading under the ubiqitous chestnut trees I so love, a bit of Cartier-Bresson in it...

I like the shot and I like the exposure, even if you are flirting with a bit of overesposure I dont think its actually detrimental. Im at a stage where I sort of like a certain raw look that overexposure can provide. The compo is really good. Id love to live in Paris for a while and try my hand at street photography where Doisneau roamed. Now if I can only realize that dream based on photography:) A long shot, I know.
