Pretty in Pink (Paris people nr. 3) Photo

Photographer’s Note

The thing is, they have these cows in Paris, the ones that can be found all over the world I guess. But there was this one, I have no idea what sort of an advertisement cow this was originally, but I guess some people completely painted pink. I guess as an upbeat for the Gay Pride day in the end of June.

"Oh maman, maman! Cette vache est complètement rose, juste comme nous. Je veux m'asseoir là-dessus!"

And maman, with her cigarette in her hand, couldn't be too good that to get her on the animal, just as I was passing by with my delightful 85mm. So I got this pink symphony on digital. Also in Paris girls wear pink.

Note for Luko: This is as far as I can go in pink, Dominique offered you the tutu already.

Splendid, dear Rinie. The picture jumps off the page at you even as a tiny thumbnail. Color has someth9ing to do with it, yes, but more than that, it is your clever framing and bold use of DOF that seals the deal. What luck to hjave a pink/purple cow along with the rest of the color scheme... The ciggie in the mom's hand is proceless. One of your best ever, Rinie. Pure delight!

Right woman at the right place. The cigar in the hand adds charm to the all pink shot.

Hi Rinie,

a very nice, warm tender moment here. And boy, they sure do love pink, dont they? The pastels of the bokeh zone really match the hot pink ofthe foreground eally well and the f/1.8 bautifully isolates your subjects.

Très jolie image que voilà ! J'adore l'atmosphère familiale qui s'en dégage et surtout la douceur dans le regard de la mère pour sa fille. Cette composition rose est presque enivrante tant les couleurs semblent se confondre et les sujets se mélanger. J'adore !

Tout en rose, très bien vu, fallait pas la louper celle-ci.
Une chouette scène que t'as capturé là, terrible tout ce rose.
Le cadrage, le bokeh,....chouette.

I like how the pink keeps things together while at the same time separating them from the beige backdrop Parisienn. The cigarette balancing in one hand while the daughter has to make do with one hand of help is a nice catch of a typical yet sad behaviour.

A few months ago Tel Aviv was covered with dozens of decorated bulls, so I first thought that this was taken here..
THe only problem I see is that the cigarette is not oink as well ;-)
Anyway, a very nice and original street shot, I like the shallow DoF hat can still shows us a bit of a Parisian street.

Amazing quality you achieve with your new lens. I like how you manage to seperate the mother and child from the background....even with the distance you have to them. The pink colour is great :O)

Wat een perfecte compo in roze hier Rinie! En wat is mamam prachtig scherp getekend en de bokeh soooo smooth! De interactie, met de gelaagdheid die de peuk er aan geeft, is ook mooi gepakt. Ten slotte is de koppeling aan de heerlijke 'growing up' movie the icing on the cake.
