[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken in the Jardin des Tuileries. I loved the way the trees looked in perspective and had taken a similar picture in 1993 in winter (I will try to find it to post it, too).

Scanned from actual picture, sharpened, contrast increased, frame added.

"When the large empty space between the northern and southern wings of the Louvre now familiar to modern visitors was revealed in 1883, for the first time the Louvre courtyard opened into an unbroken Axe historique. The Tuileries Gardens (French Jardins des Tuileries) are surrounded by the Louvre (to the east), the Seine (to the south), the Place de la Concorde (to the west) and the Rue de Rivoli (to the north). Farther to the north lies the Place Vendôme.

The Tuileries Gardens cover about 63 acres (25 hectares) and still closely follow a design laid out by landscape architect Andre Le Notre in 1664. His spacious formal garden plan drew out the perspective from the reflecting pools one to the other in an unbroken vista along a central axis from the west façade, which has been extended as the Axe historique.

The Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume is a museum of contemporary art located in the north-west corner of the gardens."

Hi Yvonne,

I love these tree lined avenues in France. everytime I see one I have to stop to admire. I'm not sure on the technical aspect of the shot, but sometimes it's just the subject matter which appeals to me.

As for a new camera for you, I've only had my Nikon D50 for a few weeks and I absolutely love it to bits. Food for thought?

Regards

Stephen

Excellent idea, and good realization too.
I like the very deep perspection created by the trees.
Colours are also very good, bright and sature.

Jolie Photo Yvonne.

La perspective offerte par les arbres est agreable.
J'aimes aussi cette tonalité de couleurs délavées.
Amicalement.

Hi Yvonne,
Indeed, great perspective.
All kinds of viewpoints are possible here, but i think you made a good choice.
Good eye on the subject...very nice..!!!
Regards, Henk

You see, Yvonne.. I've found "your" tree perspective in Paris. Not exactly the same place, but quite near. I see that your approach was to shoot from the side, rather than from the center, and the vertical format works well. Cheers ;) Daniel.
