Photographer’s Note
Fourth of the serie on ivory sculting : the tools of the craftman. This is a cut from the original (in workshop) to focus on the lense (top) but mainly on the tools, which are mainly different kinds of files and graters (which are called another name, which I have unfortunatly forgotten to note down...). Of course electric tools are used for drilling or polishing but these manuel tools seem to be the principal instruments. Just a precision : the black curve near the lense is not a handle but the lamp.

Emmanuel,
I find this very interesting. The tools in the foto, as you mention, seem to be the principal tools used. This can be seen by how the wooden handles have differant colors of black and brown from use. This can be plainly seen in your photo. Also, I like the differant shapes and sizes of the tools. Again well shown in the photo. My only regret is the ash tray that shows under the work table. However, this does show that this area is used on a daily basis.
Nice job and regards,
Rob
