Photographer’s Note

The Col du Tourmalet, of cycling's Tour de France fame sits at 2115 m and links the Campan valley to that of Gavarnie. We saw cyclists of all ages when we were there; it was quite impressive (to us North Americans for which cycling is unfortunately not as well developped as in Europe). There is an interesting museum/shop at the col itself where Tour de France heroics are described
