Towards Tourmalet Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Col du Tourmalet, of cycling's Tour de France fame sits at 2115 m and links the Campan valley to that of Gavarnie. We saw cyclists of all ages when we were there; it was quite impressive (to us North Americans for which cycling is unfortunately not as well developped as in Europe). There is an interesting museum/shop at the col itself where Tour de France heroics are described

What a view! You've done a good job capturing the grandeur here. The sky is lovely; It's the perfect tone of blue. Did you use a polarizer? Usually photos taken in the middle of the day don't look this good. Well done.

Pas trop de succes nos belles montagnes :-((
Moi j'aime bien pourtant, le point de vue est tres bon, la photo a de la profondeur, est lumineuse avec des couleurs riches et bien saturees, les routes et chemins qui sinuent ajoutent un peu de graphisme de part et d'autre de la cascade, je me ferais bien une ballade moi...

Bonjour Richard,
cette vue sur le col est assez impressionnante et je dirais meme tres rafraichissante, est ce a cause de toute cette etendue de verdure, surement, mais c'est aussi surement l'effet montagne et zero beton !
