Photographer’s Note

Faithful to Génois, indeed after having pushed back the attack of a Spanish garrison in 1421, Calvi remains the only city where, nearly one century later, fleet still the standard of Saint-Georges, whereas the large majority of Corsican passed under French domination. It is after the signature of treaty of Versailles in May 1768 that Calvi will become French.
