Duchesse Anne

The ship in the harbour right in the center of Dunkerque. Houses in the background are a bit distracting the main subject, but I could not find any better point of view for this photo.
The following information about the ship is from the website of Association des Amis de la Duchesse Anne ( http://perso.wanadoo.fr/voilier-duchesse-anne/ ) :
3-master Duchesse Anne, formerly a German training-ship
called Grossherzogin Elisabeth, built in 1901.
She was saved from scrap by the City of Dunkirk in 1981. With an overall length of 90 m, she is the biggest tall ship preserved in France. She is moored in the Dock of Commerce, next to the Musée portuaire, and can be visited. |

Sharp night view, with good reflexion. The ship seems to be now good looking after the restauration (she was a complete ruin a few years ago...).
All the best,
Emmanuel
Very nice! Could be a post cart.

Excellent sharpness, especially for the night photo. I admire. You definitely used a tripod, didn't you? I am still so bad with night shots...
Hi Linas,
another very amazing night shot from you! The blurred effect of the reflection of the ship is due to a not perfectly still water, or to the aperture value (i.e. the resulting DOF) you chose ?
Nice view of this ship, well lit, and well composed.
The house in the background is the former hall for tobacco trade, and now the museum of the harbour od Dunkerque.
