Photographer’s Note

Also called the Citadel, strong the Saint Nicolas's Day is built of 1660 to 1664 by the Knight of Clerville on order of Louis XIV. The defensive plan out of star, expensive in Vauban, makes of it the most remarkable military structure of the Rhone delta. Just like Strong Midsummer's Day, its role is more to supervise the city to improve its defense. About their construction, Louis XIV said: "We noticed that the Marseillais snuffed the pretty country houses extremely. We wanted to have ours with the entry of this large port ". Indeed, these two forts were built following a rising of Marseilles, blow Louis XIV, wanting to control this city turned the guns towards the city and not towards the sea to protect the city.

je ne savais pas que Marseille avait son citadel aussi... Je connais aussi Marseille-en-Beauvaisis, entre Amiens et Beauvais, pas loin de Poix...

Les couleurs et les contrastes de cette image sont au top. Une très belle prise nocturne qui est aussi unique. Compliments.

Trois bandes horizontales chacune d'une couleur trè différente donnent une association très contrastée. Bien vu et note instructive.
