An old old one, sorry about the image quality, taken with Kodak Gold 200 film and cropped from a fixed 50mm lens, from back in the backpacking student days. This is the old bridge of Carcasonne, fellow TE member Didi has many more contemporary photos of this place. I don't know how to do a sepia conversion, perhaps that would have been interesting.

What a beauty, Tan!!!
I like so much the quiet scene of the fisherman with his dog in front of the big castle!
Water has the same color of the sky, and green is so vivid!

I like the foreground with the fisher and dog,
perhaps the green is too green!!
it contrast too much with the color of castle of Carcassonne.

Hi Tan. I like the shot a lot and the guy fishing really does make it a picturesque scene. I wondered about the sepia too, so I gave it a really quick go (been in sort of a ws mood today).

Your colour photo is always better than a sepia version.

Great view, I like the vivid green a lot. The bridge, walls and towers in the background look all great. The fisherman and his dogs are a nice detail. Good work!

une photo aux couleurs saturées de cette cité médievale que nous connaissons bien dans le midi, le cadrage avec le pécheur est génial.

Carcassone is a town that I hope to descover one day ! And your picture won't change my mind !
Very nice a well composed with this fisherman and the old city on the back !

Image quality is not bad at all, the colors are still great and sharpness is resonable. This perspective is impressive - great strong background of castle but in front of it is a rather 'little' commoner enjoying dailylife... Interesting subject and great result.

Funny to see this man accompanied by his dog fishing here in this fabulous surrounding. Of course he should be taking pictures like you did.

Ah, Carcassonne, that's what I thougt. So clear a known image.
I was surprised by the angling man and his dog. Very strong.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

Hi Tan. I don't think you need to make any apologies for the image quality as it looks good to me especially considering the age. The saturation of the greens sure is through the roof. Great shot Tan!

Great capture of a beautiful place. It looks like something out of the Medieval times. What an amazing building and bridge. The composition is great, the green grass in the foreground and then the towering fortress makes this photo very impressive. Great work, Tan!

very nice image Tan
the castle is well taken and the fisherman with his dog in front is a very nice detail. Very nice light and very good job you did Tan.

Yes, its the "capthaddock" version here. At first time I open it, I can see your touch, lol. Carcassonne (not Carcasonne !)is really a marvelous town.
Have a nice WE.

A old but good scanned image in this known French place. I like also your Sepia version however for me the post is better. Good colors, light and sharpness. Excelent angle and perspective view of the scenery in a fine enquadrement. The man fishing and the dog are a must for this well done work ad composition. Congratulations and have a nice Sunday.

Hehe, beautiful view and much different from the other of Carcassone I saw. Great perspective.
ChrisJ (103665) 2006-03-26 3:53
The castle makes a majestic backdrop to the angler & dog. Fantastic color & saturation. Very good work, & tfs!

Thank's Tan for your notes about my picture.
I had done a sepia version as you wished.
Nice POW of your composition.
The scan is well done.

One more masterpiece of castle scene... Wonderful!
rbcy1974 (20758) 2006-03-26 5:42
I find the colours here quite rich, and the position of the fisherman excellent. Can you believe that since I moved to Toulouse I have not been there a second time. My favoirte part though is walking atound it as the interior is kind of dysneyesque.
I guess you are really on the mood for europe now.
lukie (0) 2006-03-26 8:30
for once another point of view on Carcasonne, but I like it. The green might be a little to green.
cherubin (1971) 2006-03-26 14:11
althought this is a scanned photo, it looks perfect... (I suppose that you had make some PP...)
excellent POV and colours.
jammer79 (2722) 2006-03-26 20:55
stunning colours. very well composed with nice atmosphere.
Angshu (56462) 2006-03-26 22:53
The astonishing green colour grabs my attention. The dog & man fishing gives the picture an extra dimension. Am not sure about sepia, 'cos the green would have been lost, unless you want this picture especially to have an old appeal
Cormac (26563) 2006-03-27 11:20
Wonderful shot! I like the contrast between the man out fishing with his dogs, enjoying a quiet moment, and the grand castle in the background. While the overall look isn't up to your present standards, the scene is very strong.
ahmetgedikli (25587) 2006-03-27 15:18

partha (14020) 2006-04-07 15:02

Inclusion of the man with his pet is a great idea.
Elaine_Blath (8509) 2006-04-21 3:54
wow, what a beautiful place and capture! The fisherman gives it such a peaceful atmosphere, and shows how big tha castle is...perfect!
adramad (40204) 2006-05-02 17:40
A great POV,of the Carcasonne Castle, I like so much the quiet scene of the fisherman with his dog.

i was watching pics of Carcassone, and telling myself it is not worth to upload my own photos of that place, there is enough photos of that famous place on TE, and i think this one is not boring like the others because there is a great composition, here the amazing place becomes a background and the main subject is the fisherman and his dog, it's very good, and i forgive you for the quality, it's a good shot ;)
