lovely tonalty range of the sepia tones, and cool composition although i wish could see the scene not tilted;

Voila une étrange facon de redresser sa canne à pêche, une tilt ;o).
J'aime bien ce degrade en 2 couches, plage: mer et ciel. Bonne idée d'avoir inclus l'horizon.

Petit secret: les hommes vont à la pêche pour se libérer l'esprit ... et oublier l'appartement, les enfants, la femme, etc. ;o)

Histoire de critiquer, j'aurais cadré un petit chouia plus serré pour ne pas laisser autant de place pour la plage avec juste les affaires qui trainent ...

Hi Sabine! ooooohh, good one! great simplicism with just the fisherman (jajaja) and the sea. the dramatic tilt is good, making the waterline run diagnolly across the frame. Like Jerzy said, the tonal range is great. Nice work.

Très jolie composition ! J'aime bien le tilt et les différents plans inclinés. Les différentes textures sont également intéressantes, galets, eau, ciel.
Le pêcheur est un élément important et ajoute une dimension verticale très amusante !

ik zie dat de visser precies een pintje aan het drinken is... dat helpt ook soms om dingen te vergeten... Moet daar moeilijk zijn om stroomopwaarts met een roeibootje te varen... :)

Une idée intéressante mais pour le coup, je ne vois pas ce qu'apporte le tilt ici, sauf expérimentation.
Dommage aussi de ne pas voir les si belles couleurs de la baie des anges, non?

tu vois j'aime bien ta compo ici, mais la je preferre la version couleur, mais si le N&B accentue cette sensation de solitude...d'ailleurs la peche, c'est seul qu'on la pratique ;o). Pour le tilt ok, pour le cadrage, j'aurais mis moins de galets et plus de ciel pour obtenir une espece de glace napolitaine tricolore ;o)...je suis ok avec Alex pour les couleurs !

Sabine,

Very very nice.

I love the way that the tiny human figure is caught between these two large, almost featureless expanses -- the sea on one side and the sand on the other (and a hint of one more expanse, the sky, hovering in the corner).

All these flat planes (sea, sand, and sky) are simple in structure and even in texture, and then there the fisherman is in the middle, complicated and awkward as human beings always are.
