Stroll in Yvelines: continuation
Here is the most elegant Pontchartrain Chateau (17th c.) brick and stone, built after Mansart's plans. It sheltered the Earl of Maurepas and later La Païva, a spy and adventuress. From behind, charming perspective over the vast ornamental lake and the gardens drawn by Le Notre. The castle is a private property.
