This is the end of the walk, that started a few hours ago, on the Place de la Concorde. I must admit the Invalides inspired me less than the foutains or even the Alexandre III bridge.

Whatever, this is the Dome, where Napoleon's tomb stands. A classical building (with a lot of gold !) but a surprising one too.

Inside, the architecture is martial. The way Napoleon's patrimony is represented is even a little totalitarian (for me). Normal, it was an Empire !
But the trouble is that parts of this patrimony still exist and rule the daily life (Code Civil, for example), positively ! And you understand how your country got built : a fusion of styles, of times, bad and good things...

I'll try to share that another time...

Personnelement, je trouve que le dôme est superbe. J'y suis allé essayer quelques clichés le dimanche 18 après-midi et je pense en mettre un sur TE;

Hi Stephane,
beautiful perspective. Nice POV of the Dome. I like your composition very much.
Nino

Bien amicalement
Jean Michel

Stephane nice balance in this frame. I love the details captured. Your eyes are busy looking up as well. Very nice indeed!

Bonjour Stephane,
Nice photo, with an unusual Point of View,
You chose a beautiful building
Magnificent architecture shot,
Regards,Łukasz

Stephane
Interesting, I never knew Napoleon's tomb stood here. Must visit it one day - another place on my list. I like the blue sky which always adds impact in these compositions and the point of view is dramatic. TFS
Have a great 2006!
Aubrey

Fantastic POV looking upwards; really only successful with a blue or dramatic sky. I like the way the right angle of the 2 parts of the roof frame the dome.

The golden colour and the deep blue sky are not that frequently to be encountered together in a photo ... and that is what makes this photo a very special one for me.
very original and interesting POV
tfs ... cheers ....s arju

Bravo
Xavier

Hi Stephane
I like your pov. here and the blue sky is lovely.
The spire looks quite nice in this perspective.
