Photographer’s Note
Le Mont in B/W this time.
I've seen so many pictures of this touristic attraction and there are really beauties between them.
It's nice to see the different views photographers have. This is my view on the place, where the number of tourists are equally as the ants living there, I think:-)) But.... in this picture, you won't see them !

It's so nice that it isin Black and white, almost all the weight of the picture is on the left side, so I think it could really use a dramatic sky, but it still works great like this...
Cheers

Dramatic stuff and looks more forebidding in black and white. Like the effect of the skies. Never been to this place but will investigate it further.

Good PoV for this very much shot place (as you say). I think you must be standing in the main car park for this. Expertly done, and unusual to see it in B&W.

Hallo Hans,
goed weekend, Rob

A good point for this very photographied mount, you are offering a differnt picture. You cactch well under the basilic this great "wall" part of "la merveille"; This one is fascinating and especially when you walk at is down level.
You have well built the picture like a L and this is cut at left a very correct place in the architecture ( they are not from the same period) and at the bottom exactly to the attractive "promenade" on the "ramparts.
Very original and creative and also a composition from a person who looks to know and likes the place.

(This will be a sunday drive for us within winter ( not to much visitors then and its at 1 1/4 h of drive from here where I live.

Dag Hans,
groeten,
Luc.

I know what you mean about tourists - it swarms with them - hold on though - I was one of them too!
I like the B&W treatment and the partial capture, it makes a refreshing change TFS :)

Hello Hans.
This one is just great ! First, I really like the composition : we can be recognize the Mont St Michel at the first glance, but the POV and crop is totally different than this we can find on so much other contributions dealing with it (and that are most often all tahe same !). The curved diagonal that makes a separation between the city and the sky is dynamic and beautiful. Great idea to turn this picture in b&w.
Thanks for sharing !

hello Hans
I like this view from below,it makes the place very imposing,as it is in fact. The use of B&W is also good under those clouds and gives more grandeur to the place,

Bonjour Hans
Hello Hans
I note a very good framing of architecture without optical deformation. Contrast translates a light dramatic environment which is very appreciable.

Groeten,
John.

Hey Hans,
Really wooowwwwww..
I'm 100% agree with your opinion. This view is really so different and more valuable to me than many others. Touristic views also have to have something different in it.
Very sharp and and good, very good PoV. B&W reflects the mystic atmosphere of hundreds of years.
Congrats and thanks for sharing...

Surely a fine and different view from this famous place - I like the B&W together with the diagonal sky line - thanks a lot for this great job.

Hi Hanssie,
This looks great in black and white. I like the strong diagonal of the building outline against the clouds. Could maybe try pushing the clouds harder to bring out more contrast? Cheers Brendan

Hi Hans,
It's good and creative to have gone for this different framing, it makes the attractive value of your photo, plus the fact the upward view built to the Mont with this strong diagonal works very well.
Have a nice week end,

'Evening Hans,
Yes, I agree with the rest about the pic being different and therefore refreshing - not only because of your decision to create a compo showing only one half (of usual full monty) but also because going for b/w to keep the drama the place has to offer and creating a slopping diagonal of the castle and descending houses underneath.
Mighty!

Hi Hans, you have a good shot here. The angle of the castle diminishing into a triangle to the right looks super. Excellent composition and especially in BW. Well shown, thank you.

Interesting shot of this place Hans - usually we see it presented in a more attractive setting. Still this one works well with the excisting grey weather, and you also included a good part of the little village, not seen to often from this angle. Well done

Hi Hans,
First of all a happy new year and better year to 2006 and sorry for delay, but it's a little difficult to see your posts TE and share to you in a more short cycle of days. Don't worry because I have also some delays in present time. It's excelent your B&W option and a upper vision by the low limit of the roofs of this place. Splendid enquadrement, point of view and perspective with fine handling mood light and contrast. Great picture and possible one of the best of S.Michel. Congratulations and thanks for your visit.

Always wellcomed images of the "Mont", this is beautiful for its dramatic light, the B&W and the absence of referements on the bottom full of tourists, good composition and choice of the B&W, compliments.

Hello Hans,
it's a much photographed building, sometimes hard to find something new in a shot but you've found something different here. The moody sky compliments the B&W image. Well done.

Hi Hans,
A nice point of view to Le-Mont-Saint-Michel, or better to say to half of the town :) Interesting composition made half by the sky and half by the buildings.
I think that choice of B&W helps to add some mystery to this place.
