Gordes, one of the many hill towns in Provence. This town is where author Peter Mayle resided and wrote his best seller "A Year in Provence." In the background you can see one of the other hill towns, Roussillon.

Nice photo, the feeling of medieval times is well present in the colours, in the houses and atmosphere.

Excellent view on this wonderful situated town.
Superb framing and interesting inclusion of the greenery on the left and right corner.
Especially i like delicate natural tones here.

Hi John,
A well composed scene, rendered with great clarity. The colours are natural and warm, not oversaturated. The POV and DOF allow one to enjoy the view of the hillside with the rambling mixture of homes and trees and then cast a wistful glance toward the distant hills and plain. The sky has just the right amount of luminosity to enhance and enrich. A very well executed capture.

Hi John, yes of course i can understand that one man stand one year in Provence to write a book ;) So beautiful region, so many landscape, this is my prefered one in france. I love it so much that i will leave paris to live there :)) When i see myself in 20 years, i see me there, will children playing around under this lovely sky and weather :)
