Calais
To many Britons, Calais is their first sight of mainland Europe. Quite what the locals think, I'm not sure, as they watch cars being laden with beer and wine until the suspension groans. The cross channel shopping trade flourishes due to a weak Euro and low alcohol and tobacco taxation on the French side. As Calais is the closest port to the UK it has led to it becoming Europe's busiest passenger port. This geographical closeness has also afforded the town a rich history but World War Two bombing has destroyed many of its physical manifestations. Calais has been invaded by numerous countries throughout its history, including the Romans, Spanish, English, Germans and again today by cross channel shoppers.

Stunning view and so much to see. All the color combinations are quite refreshing and offer a sense of happiness and fun.
The photo is a little tilted to the left I think if your straigntened it bit and then crop from the right closer to the buildng maynr one inch it could give you abetter composition. I hope you don't offend easly,
I like these flower beds the colors are great.

Hi Jose
Superb color, sharpness, lighting, & saturation, in this imposing edifice. I like the graphism of the tower against the blue sky. Buenos!

Hi Jose,
What a great building is this! Your composition is excellent from a great POV, with beautiful colours and perfect lighting. Very nice depth and framing. Great work!

Hola mani,
Buen trabajo.
Recuerdos desde Barcelona y buenas noches!

Hi Jose - nice colourful architecture complemented with the flowers at bottom, very nice. The euro is not nearly weak enough for us yet.

JESUS
