Photo catch yesterday at the time of the restoration of the column of the Of Gironde ones.
The statue at the top of the column which represents "the spirit of freedom" was descended to be restored.
The column of Of Gironde is a remarkable point on the place of the Quincunxes, set up between 1894 and 1902 with the memory of the deputies of Gironde victims of the Terror which followed the French revolution, this 43 height meters column supplied with a superb fountain throne in full heart of the city, on one of the greatest places of Europe. Its top is overcome by a statue of "Freedom breaking its irons" of the Dumilâtre sculptor.

Salut Dominique,
Etonnant et tout à fait insolite ce cliché. Ce qui me plaît particulièrement c'est l'orientation du regard de la statue. Elle semble nous regarder et nous dire : "regardez ce qu'ils ont osé me faire, moi, la Liberté ailée, j'ai brisé mes fers, et me voilà descendue de mon vol, et entourée de ce câble grotesque". Joli coup d'avoir saisi ce moment. J'aime beaucoup l'aspect très vertical de la photo avec ce beau ciel bleu. Amicalement.

J'aime beaucoup l'idée du titre, peut-être encore plus que la photo, en tout cas c'est lui qui m'a attiré sur elle...
La réalisation laisse un peu à désirer à mon goût mais là n'est pas le plus important.

Photo originale, note trés interesante,bientot tous les monuments bordelais seront restaurés,petite precision:Les quinquonces serait la plus grande place d'Europe avec 126000m2.merci du partage,
