Photographer’s Note

I was lucy to get such a view when I went ot Paris in March. Normally I go by train, but I guess going by plane was worth it just for the picture.

On the right hand side you can see the "Garonne River" one of the largest in france, which goes all the way up to the Atlantic. Toulouse is th European Aerospace capital. Here is the HQ of Airbus, plus there are several other companies and research institutions dedicated to this industry.

It is the 5th metropolitan area in France with around 900,000 people in the metropolitan area. Right above the bridges is the old downtown made up of old townhouses from the 1600s mostly on brick. That is why Toulouse is called "la ville rose", the pink city, as the late afternoon sun gives the city walls a pinkish hue. Sadly I missed my house by a little bit. If you see the Green Dome in the lower right hand, that is an old hospital, and I like 8 minutes walk to the right.
